Teachers do what we do because we love it. Everyone knows that teachers are underpaid and overworked. We certainly don't do this job for the money or the great hours. Most of us work 50 to 60 hours a week while only being paid for 37 1/2. Sure, we are out of school when the students are out, but most of us are attending workshops, researching topics, creating lessons, gathering resources and paying for these things out of our own pockets while not earning a salary. Many of us have to work another job over the summer to keep paying our bills during that time. So, why do we do what we do? It's more than a job, it's a lifestyle. We live this life because of the connections we make with people. The connections we make with our students, their parents and siblings, other teachers, administrators and all types of educators.

On the night of Sept. 27th, 2015 we will experience a Super Moon Lunar Eclipse! This event will not happen again until 2033! Here is a video to explain this wonderful event. I hope you can all enjoy the view.Open House will be Wednesday night, 9/2 at 7:15 pm. I hope that all our parents can come out to visit our classroom on this evening. In case you can't make it, the presentation will be posted on the Home page of this website. Additionally, in the near future I will be posting a podcast right here on this page to inform you on how you can help your child with the homework to help them be successful in third grade.
